Ashley Home Furniture Store Fire

The Ashley home furniture store in Asheville suffered extreme damage to due a large and uncontrollable fire on November seventh, 2007. The remains of the store are currently under investigation, and the cause for the fire has not yet been determined.

The firefighters and witnesses of the scene are claiming that this fire is the largest Asheville has ever seen. The effects of a commercial building full of wood and set a blaze is devastating. Cost of damages are estimated to be somewhere around four million dollars, according to the Asheville Fire Chief.

There were no human injuries reported. All of the employees, and any customers quickly and efficiently evacuated the building before the fire got out of hand. The strongest effect the fire will have will be on the nine employees who have to be relocated to other Ashley home store locations.
